Thanks to all those that braved the bank holiday cold and rain to come along to the Willington Arts Festival! My prints and greetings cards sold well, and I got chatting to lots of interesting people so it was a good weekend all round!

Willington Arts Festival 2010 May Bank Holiday

On the May bank holiday weekend, I’ll be at the Old School in Willington as part of the Willington Arts Festival. As well as displaying some of my work, I will be selling prints and greetings cards. Hopefully see some of you there!

I will be the featured artist this summer at The Beetroot Tree Gallery in Draycott, Derbyshire. I will exhibit some new collages alongside some pictures that have been exhibited before. Greetings cards with prints of my work (I’ve made some out of recycled magazines) will be for sale there too – I’ll put some pictures on here soon too.

My work is part of the the Erewash Open Art Exhibition and will be on display at The Beetroot Tree, a gorgeous gallery in Draycott, near Derby (DE72 3PP if you want to put it in your sat nav). There’s a shop and a shop with delicious hot chocolate and cake! The exhibition runs for two weeks from the 30th January.

Later on in the year, I will hopefully have my own exhibition here, and will post more details nearer the time!

The Giant Caterpillar!

It was great fun at the weekend in Longley Four Greens, Sheffield where children helped build a giant caterpillar out of cycle tyres…

Children also used the tyres to print onto fabric, making up caterpillar pictures and stories. These will be sewn together to form tunnels that children can play inside. There will be a waterproof outer structure (an old taupaulin), so the structure should last!

The children enjoyed playing in the caterpillar, and making up different games to play…

Wirksworth Festival this weekend!

I’ll be exhibiting and selling my art, and showing off what I’ve been up to over the last year. Bring any sweet wrappers, and tickets – I’ll be putting together a scrapbook of memories from this years festival made with everyones rubbish, and will offcourse be looking for some creative helpers!

The Chesterfield Canal Collage – Really Nearly Finished!!

I’ll probably carry on adding bits and pieces to this over the next few months, but think that it looks lively and captures the feel of the festival – Thanks to all my helpers over the weekend, I’m very happy with the (almost!) finished result. Let me know what you think (you can leave a comment below)…

I’ll be exhibiting this along with some of my other work at the Wirksworth Festival on the 12th and 13th September. If you haven’t been to the festival before, its a fantastic event – Loads of artists display their work in peoples homes and buisnesses throughout Wirksworth – I’ll be just off the Market Place, in Crown Yard. There’s loads of performances and stuff going on, so there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained. The website is www.wirksworthfestival.co.uk if you want to find out more.

Canal Collage!

The Chesterfield Canal Festival was a great event – lots of children helped cut and stick and paint using all the rubbish visitors and exhibitors gave me over the weekend! In a week or so, I’ll have a bit of time to finish the collage, and will put some more pictures up. For now though, here’s some pictures from the event itself…

I’m going to be displaying my work at the Chesterfield Canal Festival – www.kiveton2009.com – It should be a great weekend – you can camp there and they’ll be loads of stalls and stuff going on – including boat rides! I’m going to be getting visitors to donate their rubbish from the festival, and help me create a canal-inspired collage – it should keep me busy for a few days! Would be great to see you there!
